Bieber was raised by a single mother with Stratford, Ontario, and as a young child he learned to play this drums, the piano, the electric guitar, and the trumpet. In 2007 he participated inside a local singing competition, placing minute, and his mother posted any video of his performance on-line site YouTube for friends and family who were unable to attend. She later uploaded other homemade videos, by which Bieber sang popular rhythm-and-blues (R&B) tunes and occasionally accompanied himself on beginners guitar, and they soon attracted focus beyond their originally intended target audience. Among those who saw Bieber’s video tutorials was Scott “Scooter” Braun, any music promoter and talent broker, who invited the 13 year old Bieber to record demo's at the studio in Atlanta. While presently there, Bieber happened to encounter R&B singer Usher and arranged a friendly audition with him. Impressed simply by Bieber’s natural confidence and oral talent, Usher helped sign him to some recording contract in late 2008.
In May 09 Bieber unveiled the first single, the buoyant puppy-love tune “One Time, ” and six months later he released the seven-track EP The World, composed mainly of polished R&B-influenced pop. By this time his audience had dramatically expanded to add countless pre adolescent girls that considered him a heartthrob, and the recording sold more than one million copies.
